Re: UKIP leader quits after 18 days in charge
Carswell seems such a decent, straight arrow sort of fellow. It makes him totally out of place in UKIP. Since defecting his voting record has been as conservative as the conservatives.

He"ll no doubt return from whence he came.

Re: UKIP leader quits after 18 days in charge
Raheem Kassam reckons Carswell is a Tory "plant" to ruin UKIP.

Reading up on it, it doesn't appear he's far wrong.

Re: UKIP leader quits after 18 days in charge
To be fair tories and UKIP are interchangeable. Think for example of Mssrs. Carswell, Reckless and Hamilton.

After today's fracas at the EU Parliament it seems the only noticeable difference is that the tories seem to have more class.

Surface 5.42 - its not really enough. You have to be properly pissed off about something that gets you in the guts (EU/immigration on the right, climate change/fracking on the left for example) to make you actually register that kind of protest vote.

Right of centre tories will not like what the Tories have done over the past few years but the EU vote lanced a massive boil, and should be sufficiently cathartic for them not to vote UKIP in any great numbers. I think UKIP remains a far greater danger to the labour party, albeit they're currently doing their best to implode.

I think they should have a few more meetings and let them all kill each other.

He will probably join the Tories who have been sniffing around him tapping him up. He's mixed race working class with Black,White, Irish and Jewish background so he basically ticks every box, no wonder the Tories want him he's the left's worst nightmare.

Yep. The one where the leadership have been engaged in a very personal, very public spat for the last few months which has left them with a complete crank and fraud as leader.

They could have millions of members, what counts is votes.

Are we talking about the Labour party with the biggest membership of any political party in Europe? That downfall?

Re: UKIP leader quits after 18 days in charge
Spandex, I personally reckon a lot more people than we think will stick with UKIP purely out of mistrust/dislike for the main 2. If "hard Brexit" (I hate that term) turns out it isn't quite as hard as many hope then their support will surge as well. I agree without Farage they are nothing, but maybe Kassam can change that (he's young, sharp, and very popular on social media). Having an Asian bloke at the top of what's often presented in the MSM as the second coming of the NSDAP will piss all the lefties off no end as well, which of course will be great.

I'm just speculating here of course, I dunno any more than you or anyone else tbf.

I think Labour risks becoming a cult. I find Corbyn supporters to be the most hateful and obnoxious folk around and anyone (especially other Labour folk) who don't blindly go along with Corbyn's mantra of "ending poverty" etc is Blairite/Tory/scum in their eyes. This sort of divisiveness won't do them much good in the long run.

Re: UKIP leader quits after 18 days in charge
The problem is Labour will survive. Corbyn will come and go, the massive union machinery will get moving, they have like 750,000 members or something. No fucking voters but a colossal downfall for them won't be fatal.

UKIP is much less resilient. Seriously, what do they have now we have Brexit and Farage has gone? Serious question. If May get's immigration controls in place they are done and dusted and that labour vote will waft back and leave a rump of homeless right wing nutters.

Re: UKIP leader quits after 18 days in charge
Raheem Kassam has hinted on social media about becoming leader. He's also not shy about describing the party falling apart and sharing his personal opinions of members.

UKIP have only really been a thing in the last few years (almost entirely due to Farage) so its nowhere near as colossal as Labour's downfall.

Re: UKIP leader quits after 18 days in charge
So he was decked by a colleague called Mike Hookem??? You couldn't fucking make this shit up.

What an utter fucking shambles that party is, watching them and Labour right now is my favourite viewing. I might vote Tory again next time, I like the cut of Teresa May's gib.

Labour have a solid machine, history and the unions to come back from their mess. All UKIP has is Farage. Such a shame really, they really could have given 2020 a right good go in those Labour heartlands.

I think the real Tory right wingers have already gone to UKIP and listening to May's speech they have another centrist, one nation Tory in charge so there's no home for them there anymore.

Scummers

And I reckon not a single one of them even knows who Woolfe is, or what his opinions/views actually are. They just like having an "enemy" so they can take the high ground. He's UKIP so must be bad, and as bad as Hitler, so its good hes fighting for his life. CUNTS.

Quotes from Corbyns supporters....

"There is a god, look at the loser" with picture of him lying on ground

"If he dies one UKIP is dead, another one goes to jail, seems like a good scenario"

"He doesn't give a fuck about dead Syrian children, he's evil so fuck him"

"Who cares about a dead bigot"

You have to love the warm and friendly left.

Big old northern ex-forces lump. Looks like he drinks gravy as a post workout drink.

UKIP without Farage is nothing, unfortunately.

Still less of a mess than Labour though.
